Sears and Kmart stores closing, what to do with your gift card?

Sears Holding has announced it will be closing over 100 Sears stores and Kmart stores due to under performing earnings and a sluggish holiday season. If you have a gift card from a retailer and they are filing for bankruptcy or having a liquidation sale you should go and redeem your gift card immediately. However Sears nor Kmart are going out of business, so you should be able to redeem your Sears gift card or Kmart gift card either online or at one of the remaining stores that will still be open.
